Instructions

  1. Divide your pizza dough into 4 equal portions.
  2. On a lightly floured surface, roll each portion into a 6 to 8 inch circle.
  3. Spread 2 tablespoon of pizza sauce onto the center of each dough circle, leaving about a half-inch border around the edge.
  4. Top the sauce with shredded mozzarella cheese and your favorite toppings.
  5. Fold the clean half of the dough over the filling, creating a half-moon shape, and press the edges together.
  6. Use a fork to crimp and seal the calzones completely.
  7. Brush the top of each calzone with olive oil and sprinkle with Italian seasoning or garlic powder if desired.
