Description
Imagine sinking your teeth into a warm, flaky biscuit dough shell, oozing with a sweet apple and caramel filling – that’s the delightful experience of Apple Caramel Bombs. This irresistible dessert combines the comforting flavors of fall with the indulgence of a gooey, caramel-filled treat.
Ingredients
- 1 can (16.3 ounce) refrigerated biscuit dough
- 2 medium apples, peeled, cored, and finely chopped
- 8 caramel candies
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 2 tablespoon melted butter
- 2 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/3 cup cinnamon sugar
- 3/4 cup powdered sugar
- 2 tablespoon cream
Instructions
1. Preheat your oven to 350°F and grease a baking dish.
2. In a skillet, melt 1 tablespoon of butter over medium heat. Add the chopped apples, brown sugar, and cinnamon. Cook until the apples are soft, about 5 minutes. Set aside to cool slightly.
3. Flatten each biscuit round to create a circular base. Scoop a portion of the apple filling onto the center of each round, and top it with a caramel candy. Carefully pinch the edges together to seal.
4. Arrange the sealed dough balls, seam side down, in the prepared baking dish. Brush the tops with 2 tablespoon of melted butter and sprinkle with cinnamon sugar. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until golden brown and caramel is oozing.
5. While baking, whisk together the powdered sugar and cream until smooth for the glaze. Drizzle over warm treats after baking.
Notes
For best results, choose firm, tart apple varieties like Granny Smith or Honeycrisp.
Ensure the dough is sealed tightly around the filling to maintain shape and prevent leakage during baking.
Keep an eye on the bombs during baking to avoid overbaking.
