Description
Delightful Apple Fritter Bites: A Bite-Sized Taste of Autumn Bliss
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
- 2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup no-sugar-added applesauce
- 1 1/2 cup peeled and finely diced Honeycrisp apples
- 2 cup powdered sugar
- 1/3 cup + 2 tablespoon apple cider or apple juice
Instructions
1. Preheat your oven to 400°F and spray your baking sheet with nonstick cooking spray.
2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon.
3. In a large bowl, whisk the melted butter with the granulated sugar until combined. Stir in the egg, vanilla extract, and applesauce.
4. Gently fold the dry mixture into the wet ingredients until just combined. Fold in the diced Honeycrisp apples.
5. Using about 1 tablespoon of batter per fritter bite, create mounds on your prepared baking sheet, spacing them a few inches apart. Bake for 10 minutes until golden brown.
6. While baking, whisk together the powdered sugar and apple cider (or apple juice) until smooth for the glaze.
7. After baking, switch your oven to broil on high. Brush glaze over each warm fritter bite and return to the oven for 2-4 minutes, watching closely for even browning.
8. Remove from oven and brush remaining glaze evenly over the top. Let sit for about 15 minutes before serving.
