Description
Bacon-wrapped Green Bean Bundles are the ultimate flavor explosion – tender, sweet-savory green beans wrapped in crispy, salty bacon with a light garlic-brown sugar glaze. This easy yet elegant side dish is perfect for holidays, special occasions, or even just a weeknight dinner.
Ingredients
- 1 pound fresh green beans
- 6–8 slices thick-cut bacon
- 2 tablespoon butter
- 2 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 cup fresh parsley (optional)
Instructions
1. Start by trimming the ends off the fresh green beans and blanching them in boiling salted water for 2-3 minutes until just tender-crisp. Immediately transfer the beans to an ice bath to stop the cooking process, then drain and pat them completely dry with paper towels.
2. In a small bowl, whisk together the melted butter, brown sugar, garlic powder, salt, and pepper to create a delectable glaze for the green beans.
3. Grab about 6-8 green beans and wrap them tightly with a slice of bacon, securing the seam with a toothpick. Place the bundles seam-side down on a prepared baking sheet. Brush any remaining butter mixture over the top of the bundles.
4. Bake the Bacon-Wrapped Green Bean Bundles in a preheated oven at 400°F for 15-20 minutes, or until the bacon is crispy and the beans are tender. Keep a close eye to ensure the bacon doesn’t burn.
Notes
Optional: A sprinkle of freshly chopped parsley adds a bright, herbaceous note and a touch of color to the final dish.
