Ingredients
- 2 cup all-purpose flour

- 2 teaspoon baking powder

- 1 cup buttermilk
- 2 large eggs
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup finely chopped apples
- 1 cup powdered sugar

Instructions
1. Preheat your oven to 350°F and grease a donut pan.
2. Mix the dry ingredients: In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
3. Combine the wet ingredients: In another bowl, mix the buttermilk, eggs, and melted butter until well combined.
4. Make the batter: Gently fold the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients, being careful not to overmix. Fold in the chopped apples last.
5. Bake the donuts: Spoon the batter into the prepared donut pan, filling each cavity about 3/4 full. Bake for 12–15 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Allow the donuts to cool slightly before glazing.
6. Prepare the glaze: In a small bowl, whisk together the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla until you have a smooth, pourable consistency.
7. Glaze the donuts: Dip the tops of the slightly cooled donuts into the cinnamon-sugar glaze, allowing any excess to drip back into the bowl. Place the glazed donuts on a wire rack or parchment paper to set.
Notes
For a gluten-free version, substitute the all-purpose flour with a 1:1 gluten-free flour blend. You can also experiment with different types of apples, such as Honeycrisp or Granny Smith.
