Ingredients
- 1 medium head cauliflower
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- 1 cup Panko breadcrumbs
- 2 tablespoon olive oil
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 1/4 cup Thai sweet chili sauce
- 1 tablespoon Sriracha sauce
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
Instructions
1. Preheat your oven to 420°F (215°C) in natural convection/static heat mode.
2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, milk, baking powder, garlic powder, paprika, onion powder, salt, and black pepper until you have a smooth batter.
3. Dip each cauliflower floret into the prepared batter, making sure it’s fully coated.
4. Toss each floret in the Panko breadcrumbs.
5. Arrange the breaded cauliflower florets on a parchment-lined baking tray in a single layer. Drizzle with olive oil. Bake for 20–25 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy.
6. While the cauliflower is baking, mix the mayonnaise, Thai sweet chili sauce, Sriracha sauce, and rice vinegar in a small bowl. Taste and adjust seasoning.
7. Once the cauliflower is crispy, remove from the oven and toss in the Bang Bang sauce until evenly coated. Garnish with chopped green onions or sesame seeds if desired and serve immediately.
Notes
Choose a fresh, firm head of cauliflower with tight florets for even cooking.
Adjust the amount of Sriracha sauce to suit your spice preference.
Make sure the cauliflower florets are thoroughly dried before battering and breading for crispiness.
Leftover Bang Bang Cauliflower can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat by baking at 400°F (200°C) for 5-10 minutes.
