Description
The Classic Comfort of Campbell’s Green Bean Casserole is a timeless recipe that has become a staple in American cuisine, bringing families together with its creamy, crunchy, and utterly delectable flavors.
Ingredients
- 1 can (10.5 ounce) condensed cream of mushroom soup
- ½ cup milk
- 1 teaspoon soy sauce
- 4 cup cut green beans
- ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1 ⅓ cup crispy French fried onions
Instructions
1. Prepare the green beans by washing, trimming, and cutting them into bite-sized pieces. Blanch fresh green beans in boiling water for about 2 minutes, then drain. For canned green beans, simply drain them; for frozen green beans, thaw and drain before proceeding.
2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the condensed cream of mushroom soup and milk until smooth. Stir in the soy sauce, then add the prepared green beans and about ⅔ cup of the crispy French fried onions. Sprinkle in the ground black pepper and mix until evenly coated.
3. Grease a 9×9-inch casserole dish. Transfer the green bean mixture into the prepared dish, spreading it out evenly. Preheat your oven to 350°F and bake for about 25 minutes, or until hot and bubbling.
4. After 25 minutes, remove the casserole from the oven and stir gently. Sprinkle the remaining French fried onions over the top and return to the oven for an additional 5 minutes, or until the onions are golden brown and crisp.
Notes
Let the casserole rest for a few minutes before serving. Store leftovers covered in the refrigerator for up to 4 days or freeze without topping for longer storage.
