Description

Cheesy Sloppy Joe Garlic Bread is the ultimate comfort food mashup that’s sure to satisfy your cravings for savory, cheesy, and garlicky goodness.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 ciabatta loaf, split in half lengthwise
  • 2 tablespoon unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 2 teaspoon olive oil
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 cup finely diced yellow onion
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 2 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon yellow mustard
  • 1/2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

Instructions

1. Preheat your oven to 350°F. Line a baking sheet with foil or parchment paper. In a small bowl, mix the softened butter, garlic powder, salt, and pepper until well combined. Spread this garlic butter mixture evenly on the cut sides of the ciabatta loaf. Bake the garlic bread for 10-12 minutes, or until golden and crispy.

2. While the garlic bread is baking, heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef and diced onion, cooking until the beef is browned and the onion has softened. Drain any excess fat from the pan. Add the minced garlic and cook for another minute. Stir in the ketchup, water, brown sugar, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 20-30 minutes.

3. Once the garlic bread is out of the oven, spoon the sloppy joe mixture over both halves. Top with shredded mozzarella and cheddar cheeses. Return to the oven and bake for an additional 10 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly. Optionally broil for 2-3 minutes for a golden-brown finish. Garnish with fresh chopped parsley if desired, slice, and serve warm.

Notes

Customizing toppings for your Cheesy Sloppy Joe Garlic Bread is a fun way to personalize the dish. Consider adding sliced jalapeños for a spicy kick or diced tomatoes for freshness. You can also experiment with different herbs such as basil or cilantro for added flavor.
