Description

Get ready to indulge in a comforting and flavor-packed dish with our Chicken and Spinach Casserole with Cream Cheese. This irresistible casserole combines tender chicken, fresh spinach, and a luxurious creamy cheese sauce for a meal that’s sure to satisfy your cravings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 4 cups fresh spinach
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Instructions

1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a baking dish.

2. Season the chicken breasts with salt, pepper, paprika, and onion powder. In a skillet over medium heat, heat the olive oil and sear the chicken for 3-4 minutes per side until lightly browned. This will help lock in the juices and add a delicious caramelized flavor. Once seared, remove the chicken from the skillet and set it aside.

3. In the same skillet, add the fresh spinach and cook it until it’s wilted and tender, about 2-3 minutes. This quick sauté will help the spinach retain its vibrant color and flavor.

4. In a bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, sour cream, and minced garlic. Stir in the cooked spinach until well incorporated.

5. Spread half of the creamy spinach mixture in the prepared baking dish. Place the seared chicken breasts on top, then spread the remaining spinach mixture over the chicken. Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese over the top.

6. Bake the casserole for 25-30 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.

Notes

To ensure the best possible flavor and texture, it’s important to use fresh, high-quality ingredients. The cream cheese and sour cream should be at room temperature for easy mixing, and the spinach should be crisp and vibrant. Freshly minced garlic will also add a more pronounced, aromatic flavor to the dish.
