Description
Country Ranch Green Beans and Potatoes with Bacon is a hearty, comforting dish that’s sure to become a new family favorite. With its blend of tender vegetables, crispy bacon, and ranch seasoning, it’s a flavor explosion that’s perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound fresh green beans
- 2 cup diced potatoes
- 6 ounce bacon
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 packet ranch seasoning mix
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1/2 teaspoon dried rosemary
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (optional)
Instructions
- Start by cooking the chopped bacon in a large skillet or Dutch oven over medium heat until it’s crispy and golden brown. Once cooked, remove the bacon from the pan and set it aside, leaving the drippings in the skillet.
- Add the diced onion to the skillet and sauté for about 5 minutes, until it’s soft and fragrant. Then, stir in the minced garlic and cook for an additional minute, being careful not to let the garlic burn.
- Toss the diced potatoes into the skillet and let them cook for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until they develop a slightly crispy exterior.
- Next, add the fresh green beans, ranch seasoning mix, dried thyme, and dried rosemary to the skillet. Pour in the chicken broth and stir everything together to combine.
- Cover the skillet, reduce the heat to low, and let the mixture simmer for 15-20 minutes, or until the potatoes and green beans are tender and cooked through.
- Finally, stir the crispy bacon back into the skillet and adjust the seasoning with salt and pepper as needed.
- Serve the Country Ranch Green Beans and Potatoes with Bacon hot, optionally garnished with a sprinkle of shredded cheddar cheese for an extra cheesy touch.
Notes
For a vegetarian version, omit the bacon and use olive oil instead. You can also add other vegetables like carrots or peas for extra nutrition.
