Description
This Creamy Garlic Butter Chicken Thighs Skillet is a rich and savory dish featuring tender chicken thighs simmered in a creamy garlic sauce, perfect for a cozy dinner.
Ingredients
4 boneless, skinless chicken thighs
2 tablespoons olive oil
2 tablespoons butter
4 cloves garlic, minced
1 cup heavy cream
1/2 cup chicken broth
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
Salt and pepper to taste
Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
1. Begin by seasoning the chicken thighs generously with salt and pepper. Heat the olive oil in your skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the chicken thighs until they develop a beautiful golden-brown crust, about 4-5 minutes per side. Once cooked through, remove the chicken from the skillet and set it aside.
2. In the same skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes, stirring constantly, until fragrant and just starting to turn golden. Carefully pour in the heavy cream and chicken broth, then whisk in the grated Parmesan cheese and Italian seasoning. Let the sauce simmer for 5-6 minutes, stirring occasionally, until it thickens slightly.
3. Add the cooked chicken thighs back to the skillet, spooning the creamy garlic sauce over the top. Reduce the heat to low and let the chicken simmer for an additional 5 minutes, ensuring it’s heated through and the flavors have melded together.
Notes
For a lighter version, you can use low-fat or non-dairy milk alternatives in place of the heavy cream. This dish pairs beautifully with mashed potatoes, pasta, or a fresh salad.
