5 Tbsp salt
-
2 cups whole milk
-
Salt and pepper to taste
-
Chopped green onions for garnish (optional)

Additional melted butter for flavor (optional)
Instructions

Boil Potatoes: Place potato chunks in a large pot. Cover with water and add salt. Bring to a boil and cook for 15-20 minutes, or until tender.
-
Drain & Mash: Drain potatoes and return to the pot. Mash with a potato masher or electric mixer until smooth.
-
Add Butter & Milk: Stir in butter and warm milk. Mix until creamy and smooth.
-
Season: Add salt and pepper to taste.
-
Garnish & Serve: Top with chopped green onions and drizzle with extra melted butter, if desired. Serve warm.
Notes
-
For extra flavor, use half-and-half or heavy cream instead of whole milk.
-
For a dairy-free option, try plant-based butter and milk.
-
If the mashed potatoes are too thick, add more milk until you reach your desired consistency.
