Ingredients

Scale
  • For the Meatballs:

    • 1 lb (450 g) ground beef

    • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs

    • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

    • 1 egg

    • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

    • 1 teaspoon onion powder

    • Salt and pepper, to taste

  • For the Sauce:

    • 2 cups French onion soup (canned or homemade)

    • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

    • 1 tablespoon soy sauce

    • 1/2 cup shredded Swiss cheese (optional, for topping)

Instructions

  • Mix the Meatballs: In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, egg, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix well and form into small meatballs.

  • Brown the Meatballs: Heat a skillet over medium heat. Lightly brown the meatballs on all sides (about 2-3 minutes per side). Once browned, transfer the meatballs to the crock pot.

  • Prepare the Sauce: In a small bowl, combine French onion soup, Worcestershire sauce, and soy sauce. Pour the mixture over the meatballs in the crock pot.

  • Slow Cook: Cover the crock pot and cook on low for 4-6 hours or on high for 2-3 hours.

  • Add Cheese & Serve: If using, sprinkle Swiss cheese over the meatballs about 15 minutes before the end of cooking to melt. Once cooked, serve and enjoy!

Notes

  • You can skip browning the meatballs if you’re in a hurry, but browning adds flavor.

  • For a dairy-free version, leave out the Swiss cheese or use a plant-based alternative.

  • If you prefer homemade French onion soup, feel free to use that for an even richer flavor.

  • Leftovers can be refrigerated for up to 3 days, or frozen for up to 3 months.
