Description
These Honey BBQ Bacon Wrapped Onion Rings are sweet, smoky, and seriously addictive. Wrapped in crispy bacon and glazed with a sticky honey BBQ sauce, they’re the ultimate party appetizer, game day snack, or backyard BBQ side that disappears fast!
Ingredients
-
2 large onions
-
12 slices of bacon
-
½ cup honey
-
½ cup barbecue sauce
-
1 tsp smoked paprika
-
½ tsp garlic powder
-
½ tsp black pepper
-
¼ tsp salt
Instructions
-
Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
-
Slice onions into thick rings (about ½-inch) and separate them carefully.
-
Wrap each onion ring with bacon, overlapping slightly. Use a toothpick to secure if needed.
-
Make the glaze: In a bowl, stir together honey, BBQ sauce, paprika, garlic powder, black pepper, and salt.
-
Brush the glaze over each bacon-wrapped onion ring generously.
-
Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until the bacon is golden, crispy, and caramelized.
-
Serve hot with extra glaze for dipping or drizzling.
Notes
-
Use thick-cut bacon for a meatier bite, or thin bacon if you want it extra crispy.
-
To keep them extra neat, use smaller inner onion rings for tighter wraps.
-
Want a spicy kick? Add a pinch of cayenne to the glaze!
-
