Ingredients
- 3 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 packet active dry yeast
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon dried basil
- 1 tablespoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 cup warm water
- 2 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Instructions
1. 1. In a small bowl, combine the warm water, sugar, and yeast. Allow the mixture to sit for 5-10 minutes until it becomes frothy and bubbly.
2. 2. In a large bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, salt, dried basil, dried oregano, and garlic powder.
3. 3. Pour the yeast mixture and olive oil into the bowl with the dry ingredients. Mix until a shaggy dough forms.
4. 4. On a lightly floured surface, knead the dough for about 5-7 minutes, incorporating the mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses as you go.
5. 5. Place the kneaded dough in a greased bowl, cover it, and let it rise in a warm place for about an hour, or until it has doubled in size.
6. 6. Punch down the risen dough, shape it into a loaf, and place it in a greased loaf pan. Let it rise for another 30 minutes while preheating the oven to 375°F.
7. 7. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped.
8. 8. Allow the bread to cool in the pan for a few minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
