- 1 lb ground beef
- 2 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon ginger, minced
- 2 green onions, chopped
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 2 cup cooked rice
Instructions
- Rinse the rice under cold water until the water runs clear.
- Combine the rice with 2 cup of water in a pot, bring to a boil, reduce the heat to low, cover, and simmer for about 15 minutes until the water is absorbed.
- Remove from heat, let it sit for 5 minutes, and then fluff the rice with a fork.
- In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add the ground beef and break it apart as it cooks until browned, about 5-7 minutes.
- Drain any excess fat from the skillet, then add the minced garlic and ginger. Cook for an additional 1-2 minutes.
- Stir in the soy sauce, sesame oil, and chopped green onions. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Let the mixture simmer for a couple of minutes to meld the flavors together.
- Spoon a generous amount of cooked rice into a bowl and top with the savory ground beef mixture.
- Garnish with sesame seeds, chopped green onions, and any additional toppings like sliced cucumber or kimchi.
