Ingredients
- Kielbasa sausage (smoked or turkey) – 12 to 14 ounces sliced
- Cheese tortellini (fresh or frozen) – 18 to 20 ounces
- Olive oil – 1 tablespoon
- Garlic (minced) – 3 cloves
- Onion (chopped) – 1 small
- Heavy cream – 1 cup
- Chicken broth – 1 cup
- Shredded cheddar cheese – 1 cup
- Salt – ½ teaspoon
- Black pepper – ¼ teaspoon
- Fresh parsley (chopped) – 2 tablespoons for garnish
Instructions
1. Heat a large skillet over medium heat and sauté the sliced kielbasa until browned and crispy, about 5-7 minutes.
2. Stir in water, garlic powder, paprika, dried minced onions, Dijon mustard, and heavy cream. Bring to a gentle simmer.
3. Add cheese tortellini and frozen peas, cover, and cook for 5-7 minutes or until tortellini is tender.
4. Remove from heat and stir in shredded cheddar cheese until melted.
5. Season with salt and pepper to taste, garnish with parsley, and serve warm.
Notes
For a lighter option, use turkey kielbasa.
To make it lactose-free, substitute heavy cream with coconut milk or almond milk.
