Description

Savor the rich, comforting flavors of Outback Steakhouse’s famous Alice Springs Chicken made at home! Juicy, perfectly seasoned chicken breasts are topped with creamy honey mustard, crispy bacon, melted Monterey Jack cheese, and a sprinkle of fresh parsley. It’s an irresistible, flavor-packed dish that’s easy to make and perfect for a cozy dinner or a family feast.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 cup honey mustard dressing
  • 8 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
  • 1 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese
  • 1 cup sautéed mushrooms (optional)
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  • Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a baking dish or oven-safe skillet.
  • Season the Chicken: Pat chicken breasts dry. In a small bowl, mix paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Rub this seasoning mix over the chicken breasts.
  • Sear the Chicken: Heat a skillet over medium-high heat, adding a little oil. Sear the seasoned chicken breasts for 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown. Remove from heat.
  • Add the Honey Mustard: Drizzle honey mustard dressing over each chicken breast, making sure each piece is well-coated.
  • Top with Bacon and Cheese: Sprinkle crumbled bacon over each chicken breast, then top with shredded Monterey Jack cheese. Add sautéed mushrooms, if desired.
  • Bake: Transfer the skillet or baking dish to the oven. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the chicken is fully cooked (internal temperature should reach 165°F) and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  • Serve and Garnish: Remove from the oven and garnish with chopped fresh parsley. Serve hot, with your favorite sides!

Notes

For added flavor, substitute turkey bacon for a lighter option, or use a mix of Monterey Jack and Cheddar cheese. To make it a bit spicy, add a pinch of cayenne pepper to the seasoning rub. This dish pairs perfectly with steamed veggies or a fresh side salad!
