  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • ½ cup crumbled bacon
  • ½ cup ranch dressing
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • Breadcrumbs for coating
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Cook the potatoes: Bring a pot of water to a boil, add whole, unpeeled russet potatoes, and simmer for about 15 minutes until fork-tender. Drain, cool, and hollow out the insides.
  2. Prepare the seasoned mash: In a bowl, mash the scooped-out potato flesh with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper.
  3. Cook the beef filling: In a skillet, cook ground beef until browned. Drain excess fat, then stir in ranch dressing, cheddar cheese, and crumbled bacon.
  4. Stuff the potato shells: Spoon the cheeseburger filling into the hollowed-out potato shells and top with more cheddar cheese.
  5. Fry the tater kegs: Heat oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 350°F (175°C). Roll the stuffed potatoes in breadcrumbs, then fry until golden brown, about 5-7 minutes. Drain on paper towels.
