  • Total Time: 35 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Description

A vibrant, quick-to-make weeknight meal, this Steak and Shrimp Stir Fry features tender flank steak, juicy shrimp, and crisp vegetables all tossed in a savory soy-ginger sauce. Ready in under 35 minutes, it’s the perfect balance of protein and veggies for a healthy, flavorful dinner.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb flank steak, thinly sliced against the grain

  • 1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined

  • 2 Tbsp soy sauce

  • 1 Tbsp cornstarch

  • 2 Tbsp vegetable oil, divided

  • 1 bell pepper, thinly sliced

  • 1 cup broccoli florets

  • 1 carrot, julienned

  • 3 garlic cloves, minced

  • 1 Tbsp fresh ginger, minced

  • 2 green onions, chopped

  • Salt and pepper, to taste

  • 1 tsp sesame seeds, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Marinate the steak: In a medium bowl, toss the sliced steak with soy sauce and cornstarch. Let rest for 10 minutes.

  2. Cook the steak: Heat 1 Tbsp oil in a wok or large skillet over medium-high heat. Add steak in a single layer, cook until browned (3–4 minutes), then transfer to a plate.

  3. Sauté the shrimp: Add the remaining 1 Tbsp oil; once hot, add shrimp and cook until pink (2–3 minutes). Remove and set aside.

  4. Stir-fry the veggies: In the same pan, toss in bell pepper, broccoli, and carrot. Stir-fry for 3–4 minutes until just tender. Add garlic and ginger; cook 1 more minute.

  5. Combine & heat through: Return steak and shrimp to the pan. Toss everything together until evenly coated and heated. Season with salt and pepper.

  6. Garnish & serve: Plate over rice or noodles, sprinkle with green onions and sesame seeds, and enjoy hot.

Notes

  • Hot pan is key: Ensure your wok or skillet is preheated well for that perfect sear.

  • Don’t overcook shrimp: Remove them as soon as they turn opaque.

  • Veggie swaps: Try snow peas, zucchini, or mushrooms to mix things up.

  • Sauce tweaks: For extra depth, add a drizzle of sesame oil or a pinch of brown sugar.
