Description

These Ooey-Gooey Bacon Cheeseburger Pizza Pockets are the perfect blend of crispy pizza dough, savory ground beef, crispy bacon, and melty cheese. With a tangy mustard-ketchup sauce and a dash of Worcestershire sauce, these pockets are a fun twist on a classic cheeseburger. Quick and easy, they’re perfect for a family dinner or game day snack!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 8 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 can refrigerated pizza dough (or homemade dough)
  • 1 ½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 ½ cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • ½ cup ketchup
  • ¼ cup mustard
  • ½ cup pickles, chopped (optional)
  • Cooking spray or oil (for greasing)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a baking sheet with cooking spray or oil.
  2. Cook the Beef and Bacon: In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned, breaking it apart as it cooks. Drain excess fat and stir in crumbled bacon, chopped onion, garlic powder, onion powder, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, then remove from heat.
  3. Prepare the Pizza Dough: Roll out the pizza dough on a lightly floured surface. Cut the dough into squares or circles, depending on your preference for the pockets.
  4. Assemble the Pockets: Spread a small amount of ketchup and mustard in the center of each dough square. Spoon the beef and bacon mixture over the condiments, then sprinkle with mozzarella and cheddar cheese. Add chopped pickles for extra flavor, if desired.
  5. Seal and Bake: Fold the dough over the filling, pressing the edges to seal. Place the pockets on the prepared baking sheet and lightly spray with cooking spray. Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown.
  6. Serve: Allow the pockets to cool for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy!

Notes

  • You can use homemade pizza dough for a fresh twist or store-bought dough for convenience.
  • Add extra toppings such as jalapeños or tomatoes for an extra zing!
  • The pickles are optional but highly recommended for that authentic cheeseburger flavor.
