  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup crushed cornflakes (for topping)

Instructions

  • Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with butter or cooking spray.
  • Prepare the Casserole Mixture: In a large bowl, combine the shredded chicken, cream of chicken soup, cream of mushroom soup, sour cream, mayonnaise, shredded cheddar cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, and salt and pepper. Mix until well combined.
  • Add the Noodles: Stir in the cooked egg noodles and diced tomatoes (if using), making sure they are evenly coated in the creamy mixture.
  • Transfer to the Baking Dish: Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish and spread it evenly.
  • Make the Topping: In a small bowl, combine the crushed cornflakes and melted butter. Sprinkle evenly over the casserole.
  • Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, until the casserole is hot, bubbly, and the top is golden brown.
  • Serve: Let the casserole cool slightly before serving. Enjoy your creamy, comforting dish!

Notes

  • For extra flavor, feel free to add some cooked vegetables like peas or carrots to the casserole mix.
  • You can swap the cream of mushroom soup for another cream soup variety like cream of celery for a different twist.
